Ἰησοῦς Χριστὸς ἐχθὲς καὶ σήμερον ὁ αὐτός καὶ εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας

Stepping back from the painting with eyes to see a painting of the APOSTLES and Church in context
Including a chronological list of Epistles (Apostolic Letters) of the New Testament
TalkofJESUS.com NOW follows our two recent SERIES
— ACTS of the APOSTLES and First Corinthians — God-willing, with a look at the last epistles of three Apostles to the Church
—beginning with SECOND PETER.
Our overriding QUESTION in these NEW SERIES for and 21st century C.E. believers and seekers of the Lord Jesus Christ is this:
What is Apostolic faith and what must we do with it in the Common Era of christianity?

A.D. 60- ~A.D. 95

The Apostles continue to write letters delivered to numerous churches throughout the world ruled by Rome — 12 more Epistles, plus Mathew‘s Gospel, additional letters from Jude, half-brother of Jesus, a letter to the Hebrews, and another Gospel by the gentile physician Luke (who also records Acts).
And finally, in addition to his three epistles, the Apostle John proclaims not only his Gospel, but also the Revelation of Jesus Christ!

— Cautions for Christians of the Church
The Clarity and Connections of Apostolic Faith
We will begin and end chronologically.
In keeping with our chronological look at epistles written to the saints of various first century churches as documented in ACTS and the letters themselves, TalkofJESUS.com will proceed with letters written to churches and church leaders (preachers and elders) AFTER an initial epistle from an Apostle.
NOW being read in our church:
2 Peter
- ~ A.D. 64 – THEME: Spiritual Discernment
The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise as some understand slowness, but is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance.
2 Timothy
- ~ A.D. 67 – THEME: Endurance
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
2 John
- ~ A.D. 90-95
THEME: Steadfastness
And this is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the very commandment you have heard from the beginning, that you must walk in love.
- Gospel of John, 1 John, 2 John & 3 John all written between ~AD 85 and AD 95.
- 3 John is a personal letter
AND some time in this SERIES appropriately:
The Apostles’ Creed
Earlier this year we examined some foundational teachings of the Bible and core beliefs of the Church since the resurrection of Christ. These include doctrine (or teaching/preaching), corporate confessions and ceremonies, baptisms, communion and sacraments.
Our clarifying looks and affirmations of conferences of church leaders examined doctrine topically.
Rather than studying creeds and their history as we did earlier in DOCTRINE, we will simply take another look at THE APOSTLES’ CREED long-familiar to believers of several churches.

The Apostles’ Creed is NOT centered on the Apostles of course, but affirms our Christian belief in our God and Christ.

We hope to hear from you as you READ more from New Testament LETTERS written to you and your church.
