Three Last Apostolic Letters
— Cautions for Christians of the Church
The Clarity and Connections of Apostolic Faith
We will begin and end chronologically.
In keeping with our chronological look at epistles [below] written to the saints of various first century churches and documented in ACTS of the Apostles and letters from the APOSTLES themselves, TalkofJESUS.com is featuring letters written to churches and church leaders (preachers and elders) AFTER an initial epistle from an Apostle.
2 Peter

- ~ A.D. 64 – THEME: Spiritual Discernment
The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise as some understand slowness, but is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance.
The Apostles’ Creed

Rather than studying creeds and their history as we did earlier in DOCTRINE, we took a brief topical look at THE APOSTLES’ CREED [linked above] long-familiar to believers of several churches.
2 Timothy
- ~ A.D. 67 – THEME: Endurance
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

Stepping back from the painting with eyes to see a painting of the APOSTLES and Church in context
Do NOT be put off by things Catholic or Orthodox - things Protestant or ancient.
Our overriding QUESTION in these NEW SERIES for and 21st century C.E. believers and seekers of the Lord Jesus Christ is this:
Historical events of Acts of the Apostles recorded
Christ and the Apostles Peter, Paul & John –
TWO Eras of Apostolic Epistles to the churches
~ Ano Domini 30 – A.D. 60
These Letters all sent to churches during the same time as ACTS of the Apostles.
James, half-brother of Jesus and the Apostle Paul write seven Epistles to the churches, in addition to Mark writing his Gospel.
A.D. 60- ~A.D. 95

Letters to the saints of the First Century Church
The Apostles continue to write letters delivered to numerous churches throughout the world ruled by Rome — 12 more Epistles, plus Mathew‘s Gospel, additional letters from Jude, half-brother of Jesus, a letter to the Hebrews, and another Gospel by the gentile physician Luke (who also records Acts).
And finally, in addition to his three epistles, the Apostle John proclaims not only his Gospel, but also the Revelation of Jesus Christ!
God willing, NOW continuing in 2026 of the Common Era
We hope to hear from you as you READ more from New Testament LETTERS written to you and your church.
