In case you missed the intro to this three-part series, we are talking about the fishbowl of Preacher’s kids and the qualifications and qualities of church leadership. ALL looking into the families of faith we call ‘church‘ from the outside expect much moral modeling, love and grace.

Certainly the Preacher’s wife and Preacher’s Kids are also viewed in the spotlight of this higher standard. May God help them.

Families of Faith: Preacher’s Kids – 1
Our ‘Father,’

“Our FATHER..,” we pray. And Jesus said,

I and the Father are one.

Does that make us ‘preacher’s kids?”

Qualifications to Teach God’s Word

It’s a long list of higher standards to which we should hold the leaders of our church. I do not even qualify.

Do you? How about your church leaders? Does your pastor qualify continually?

Whether hatched before all as a Preacher’s Kid (P.K.) or thrown into the bowl of belief as one called to Christ, the world looks on ‘christians’ with high expectations of our faith and witness.

In deed and in witness we are like: Preacher’s Kids, Elder’s Kids, Deacon’s Kids.

Summer Scriptural Series RERUN

This 3-part series which did not run consecutively during June & July 2014 will run three consecutive days in the year of our Lord 2021.

It includes familiar Scriptures some churches use for choosing leadership. The HIGH STANDARD of Scripture seems unattainable.

Contemporary churches could find NO LEADERSHIP, but for the continuing grace of Jesus Christ.

The Christian Hypocrite?
Worship & Hypocrisy?

The family rushed into the church building catching the last praise song before the sermon. LOVE GOD, LOVE PEOPLE. They applauded. (In fact, they noted, it was the colorful writing imprinted on the wall of the building that confirmed this love.)

He loves us. We love Him. Such a general good feeling we can take out of here to the world! (Applause!)

But then, upon heading out the door back into the world whey wondered: “Who is this ‘He’ of whom they sing? Was ‘his‘ “Name” ever mentioned? (For I didn’t see it past the darkness on their wall.)

LOVE GOD, LOVE PEOPLE
- The worship song is popular hit on ‘Christian’ radio. Is its lyric and message so ambiguous that the world won’t recognize it?
- Are the songs so accommodating and preaching so inclusive that young ‘christians’ will rarely hear “Lord JESUS” in worship?
The challenges of hypocrisy to the church continues as we wear the masks of new trends in worship.

Yes, the faces change, but so do our masks.
