    A Temporary Throne – 25

    CHAPTER 25

The LORD had given me great latitude from the THRONE of Heaven to make a choice other than HIS ALL-KNOWING blessings (and HIS ALL-KNOWING curses).

But how was I to understand HIS UNDERSTANDING of marriage, for which THE LORD had brought me to the very THRONE of Heaven? … (I thought, before proceeding in thought or word…)

Genesis 2: 18 And the Lord God said, “It is not good that man should be alone…

My other thoughts, fully revealed to THE LIVING GOD; but freely shared and received, as in conversation of two friends…

“This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh…”
… and they shall become one flesh.

I KNOW, ROGER, THIS IS YOUR HEART,

    comforted my FRIEND.

I HAVE SHOWN YOU THE FATHER OF ALL FLESH AND THE MOTHER OF ALL DESIRE.

I HAVE SHOWN YOU THE EXAMPLE OF NOAH AND THE SINS OF ALL KINDS AND THE NAKEDNESS OF MAN BEFORE ME, EVIL FROM THEIR HEARTS FROM THEIR VERY YOUTH.

YOU HAVE SEEN THE SIN OF CANAAN UPON MY SERVANT NOAH.

SHALL I REVEAL ALL THE SIN OF SODOM TO YOU?

“LORD, no, Lord, if YOU please.

I know that YOU hate and punish the sin, while you would call the sinner, if they would hear, to repentance rather than destruction.

Lord I know that these who I love as well, choose love of their flesh over YOU.”

Malachi 3: 6 “For I am the Lord, I do not change; therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob.
7 Yet from the days of your fathers you have gone away from My ordinances and have not kept them.

Return to Me, and I will return to you,” Says the Lord of hosts.

Personal note: Today is the Seventh wedding anniversary of the marriage vows of my Blessing and me, our covenant made in the Name of God taken on 7/7/2007.
Please pray for us and for all marriages between a Christian man and a Christian woman, blessed in our vows and love for each other and for our Lord, Christ Jesus.

    A Temporary Throne – 24

    CHAPTER 24

And I thought more. Could the LORD not choose more than one people? (Perhaps a family on every continent…) Then I remembered: even in Noah’s descendants, sin remained … and more-so in the family of Ham and Canaan, whom God had already cursed.

Perhaps if God could model His Righteousness through the descendants of Shem (for now), and then through the descendants of Japheth, later: I thought…

Then I remembered that along with the curse of Canaan and the blessing of Shem (of the line of the fathers of Abram), Noah’s additional blessing of Japheth.

Genesis 9: 27 May God enlarge Japheth,
    And may he dwell in the tents of Shem;
And may Canaan be his servant.”

THESE YOU CALL, ‘GENTILES,’ WHO RECEIVED MY BLESSING THROUGH THE JEWS BORN OF THE SEED OF SHEM.

God’s omniscience (now evident to me), limiting the sin of the limited knowledge of mankind. I could not bless a man more sinful than Abraham; who like all fathers of faith demonstrated (along with their faith), sin enough.

(Perhaps even like Abram, I would have allowed the blessing of my wife from God to go to a man of more wealth and power even to save my own neck. But the Lord returned Sarah from Pharaoh to Abraham.)

I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE THINKING.

“Yes, Lord, You know. I am grieved over the covenant of marriage.”

MAN, IN HIS AND HER OWN KNOWLEDGE, HAS NOT CHOSEN WISELY.

(I knew that by “man,” the Lord meant ‘man from dust and woman from man’ – ALL mankind.)

“Lord, you know our hearts. Can you not change this?”

    A Temporary Throne – 20

    Previously…

I WILL TELL THEM ONCE MORE.

Genesis 9:7 And as for you, be fruitful and multiply; Bring forth abundantly in the earth And multiply in it.”

… I paused to consider God’s covenant with Noah and the few survivors for a cleansed creation.

    CHAPTER 20

God had once again given man a blessing. God had once again given man a command, Go into all the world (to rephrase from a later Word) … be fruitful and multiply… and whatever you do, DON’T kill each other.

Simple enough, Right? I had no better commands for Noah. Like in Eden, it was all dependent on obedience.

And as for Abel’s murder after Eden, God had also warned Cain about jealousy over blessing:

Genesis 4:7 If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it.

All Noah’s sons and their wives and offspring had to do was to ‘do well’ by obeying the LORD God who had saved them.

As God reminded me of Genesis 9:11, the LORD showed me a building.

Genesis 11: “Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them. 7 Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.”

The people were NOT in many places, but crowded together into one city.

Disobedience! Just like in Eden. And furthermore, man in gathering together had set their hearts against God; for they had proclaimed:

Genesis 11:4 “Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth.”

We returned to THE THRONE of Heaven. It seemed I couldn’t command obedience from mankind; men and women wanting to ‘make a name for ourselves.’
