    A Temporary Throne – 9

    CHAPTER 9

Job 1:1 NLT There once was a man named Job who lived in the land of Uz. He was blameless—a man of complete integrity. He feared God and stayed away from evil.

I confess that I am a sinner. I am NOT a righteous man like Job.  I am most thankful for the grace of my personal redemption through Christ’s sacrifice on the cross.

God granted Satan permission to test Job, even though Job had an exemplary prayer life. If any man’s prayers deserved answer and reward, it would be Job. And if any man lacking in prayer does NOT deserve an answer to infrequent prayer, it would be me.

God grants permission to Satan to do whatever he wants to Job, except kill him. Job loses all of his family (except for his wife, who advised him, ‘Just curse God, and die’). Job loses everything, except his integrity.

So Job makes righteous complaint to God. When God finally answers Job, it takes up most of four chapters of the Book.

I am a sinner, now before the THRONE of God.

Even with the saving grace of Christ, I dared not speak to the LORD GOD of any complaint, as if God had never heard my heart-felt prayers from deep within my mortal soul.

‘What does a mortal man say to God?’ I thought.

(And I knew the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY, already knew my thought and would not be surprised by my next words or next thoughts.)

(How would I plead my case before the THRONE of the JUDGE of all men?) I thought of Jesus parable of an unjust judge:

Luke 18 NRSV Then Jesus told them a parable about their need to pray always and not to lose heart.

    A Temporary Throne – 7

[I thank you, Lord, for hearing and answering our prayers.]

    CHAPTER 7

STAND ON YOUR FEET AND I WILL SPEAK WITH YOU.

The Lord’s words to Ezekiel had been:

Ezekiel 2: NKJV And He said to me,
“Son of man, stand on your feet, and I will speak to you.”
2 Then the Spirit entered me when He spoke to me, and set me on my feet; and I heard Him who spoke to me.

And that is exactly what happened to me! The Spirit set me on my feet before the THRONE of God.

To be clear, “son of man” means born of man, ‘adam,’ literally used for all born in the image of God. God clearly addresses Prophets, who must speak the Perfect words of God perfectly, as: “son of man.” Son of Man is also Jesus’ most frequent designation for Himself. HE IS literally speaking as PERFECT SON OF MAN (born of Mary, descendant of ‘adam), speaking the PERFECT WORD OF GOD, as GOD’S PERFECT PROPHET.

Yet in the depth of my heart I had heard the LORD address me by name through His grace. Like the Apostle John, I no longer had fear, because I knew the Voice I heard. Yet still in awe of the Person of God, I had not considered the heavenly Power of the Spirit to pick me up and set me on my feet.

As I was brought from below the THRONE and set on my feet, my heart filled with joy and NOT FEAR. I worshiped Jesus in my heart for the Word of God commanding:

    “I WILL SPEAK WITH YOU.”

    A Temporary Throne – 5

    CHAPTER 5

    SUM, ERGO SUM, ROGER!

I lay there in awe and wonderment! I immediately understood the WORD the LORD had spoken to me.

Latin: From former thoughts of a man, who after doubting the existence of every man from the beginning of time and questioning everything of God’s Creation had concluded in his own thinking: “I think; therefore, I am.”

I had been wondering how real my experience was. I had thought: Is this real? Or is this only a dream?

That was the point of life to which the philosopher had reasoned himself. The thinker’s conclusion was that man exists with certainty, because man can certainly think.

When Moses had encountered God in the burning bush that was not consumed, it did not make sense (to a created man). When Moses later asked God how to explain who God IS to Israel, this was God’s reply:

Exodus 3:14 And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.”

I knew (if I know anything at all) that some translations of the Bible read: “I AM THAT I AM,” in Hebrew literally, “hayah hayah.”

Yĕhovah ‘elohiym THE LORD GOD had spoken to me saying:

I AM, THEREFORE I AM, ROGER.

And for His MOST PERSONAL purpose, THE LORD GOD had addressed HIS NAME to me personally!
