Apocalypse 4 – Tribulation begins – The End Revealed

For in those days there will be tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the creation which God created until this time, nor ever shall be.

    Gospel of Mark 13:19 NKJV

    HOLY, HOLY, HOLY..

Looking for the coming of the Kingdom of all Righteousness?

    1:15 אֲהָהּ לַיּוֹם כִּי קָרוֹב יוֹם יְהוָה וּכְשֹׁד מִשַׁדַּי יָבֽוֹא׃

Alas for the day! For the day of the LORD is at hand, And it will come as destruction from Shaddai.

Joel 1:15 Masoretic text, Hebrew Names Version

    Like the Prophets before, Jesus also warned that it will come;

but do not hope for it as a solution to your own woes.

Almighty God is so HOLY and separated from the earth, even above the heavens as we observe — that mankind can hardly visualize John’s revelation through Jesus Christ, the risen Lamb of God and also the Lion of Judah!

Jesus, Son of Man and Son of the Father had warned disciples of those who would make false claims after His Sacrifice for sins on the Cross. Yet John, the Apostles and many more disciples had witnessed the truth of His resurrection and obeyed the Lord’s instructions to faithfulness until He will come again.

    Mark 13:

22 “For false christs and false prophets will rise and show signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect..

32 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is.

Apocalypse + The Risen Jesus Reveals The End

We have introduced the mystery of Revelation and the Apocalypse the Lord reveals through John. Today John takes us UP into the scene of Heaven before the Throne of GOD!

“Holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy

    is the Lord God, Shaddai,

who was and who is and who is to come!”

Revelation 4:8 :: Hebrew Names Version (HNV)

    Revelation 5:

And I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne a scroll written inside and on the back, sealed with seven seals. Then I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice,

    scroll with seven seals
“Who is worthy to open the scroll and to break its seals?”

But no one in heaven, on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or look inside it…

    apokalypsis of Good News

..behold, the Lion that is from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has overcome so as to open the book and its seven seals.”

.. And He came and took the book out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne.

To Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, be blessing and honor and glory and dominion forever and ever.”

    Revelation 5:13b NASB

scene ii – at the Throne

Man, born of dust in the image of Almighty God

and given the spirit of life from Him,

cannot comprehend that from which creation is separated.

And the four living creatures were saying, “Amen.” And the elders fell down and worshiped.

    Revelation 6:

The First Seal + Rider on a White Horse

    Now I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals;

and I heard one of the four living creatures saying with a voice like thunder,

    “Come and see.”

And I looked, and behold, a white horse.

    He who sat on it had a bow;

and a crown was given to him,

and he went out conquering and to conquer.

    conquering and to conquer…

So you believe in a gentle Jesus do you?

Jesus was a good teacher who would never harm anyone, would He?

Yet that was the Lamb before His Sacrifice — the Lamb crucified on a Cross. The Son of Man now IS a conquering Lion who has defeated death!

    apokalypsis of Good News

This is just the first seal ..

    revealing the Good News.

Six more seals will begin to reveal THE END.

  • From This World to the Next – Sanctification

From This World to the Next – Sanctification

Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.

John 17:17 CSB – Jesus’ prayer for disciples

    Between life & Eternal Life

As Jesus intercedes for disciples our Master has just prayed:

“I am not praying that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.

Jesus, the Eternal One, has completed His work in the world as the Son of Man, only Son of God the Father. He is about to experience the very death of mortals condemned by sin!

So as a Perfect High Priest the Lord intercedes for sinners in prayer in an upper room in Jerusalem, a Holy of Holies before our Father God, the Most High Creator of the world and Author of all life.

    John 17:

13 “But now I come to You; and these things I speak in the world so that they may have My joy made full in themselves. I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

The Lord speaks clearly to the Father and before the Apostles that He has this one more thing to say ‘in the world’ before His Disciples.

The world hates God! Jesus gave them God’s true word and now the world hates them.

    Why?

They are no longer condemned by their sin, as the world is condemned to death along the the evil one. So the departing Messiah prays for God to keep them from the temporary but real power of evil.

    • 17 Sanctify them in the truth;
      • Your word is truth.
    • 18 As You sent Me into the world,
      • I also have sent them into the world.
    • 19 For their sakes I sanctify Myself,
      • that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth.

Jesus prays for them and us and clearly states why.

    What He will do next?

The Lord will sanctify Himself so that His disciples will become like Him as they are sent also into the world.

    Sanctification

    “Sanctify them…”

    “I sanctify myself…”

What do these formal and holy words mean to a casual worshiper of these last days?

Perhaps the time has arrived for us to receive this truth as was near for a soon-to-be crucified Savior and His Disciples.

    ἁγιάζω – hä-ge-ä’-zo – sanctify

Jesus prays: Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

    John 17:17 KJV
    • to make ἅγιον, render or declare sacred or holy, consecrate. Hence, it denotes:
    1. to render or acknowledge to be venerable, to hallow: Since the stamp of sacredness passes over from the holiness of God to whatever has any connection with God, ἁγιάζειν denotes
    2. to separate from things profane and dedicate to God, to consecrate
source: Thayer's Greek Lexicon STRONGS NT 37: ἁγιάζω - blueletterbible.org

Sanctify them, as in “hallowed by Thy name.” ‘Father make these Holy by Your own holy Name,’ He could well have prayed.

The Apostle John has already testified in his gospel [John 6:69],

“We have believed and have come to know that You are the Holy G40 One G40 of God.”

Be holy, for I am holy, says the LORD.

Leviticus 20:7 & many other scriptures

Jesus IS the only High Priest with the Authority to sanctify any flesh of sinful man who He sends out into the world. The Lord can make you or any He chooses to be ‘a holy vessel of the LORD.’

    “I have sanctified them..

Jesus continues to pray for those the Father has given Him:

And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.

    John 17:19 KJV

You cannot see the face of God, O man of flesh tainted by sin!

Gaze far into the distant heavens beyond the vast sea for a light of truth, the paradise of Eden, the glory of the living Temple of the LORD. You will not enter it any more than you may enter the Holy of Holies constructed by man and destroyed by disobedience.

Jesus our High Priest prays to sanctify you through the truth.

  • HOLY | separated

    Leviticus 11:45 & John 6:69 Roger@talkofJesus.com reading today's devotional scriptures

    Isolation

What does a pandemic have to do with holiness?

Observe how some react to isolation (as in #StayatHome #Pandemic etc.) and you might just wonder how any wall of separation can exist between mankind. Human beings made in the inage of God are social. We must live and work together as families, as neighbors and as citizens of nations, even the world.

So how does separation from those crucial to our lives work?

    And who makes the rules?

In fact we currently see several struggles between many authorities of this world, nations, states, media, social and professional organizations, international corporations, wealthy philanthropists and more.

Of course few in this world will first ask,

‘What is the will of the LORD for our interactions with others?

    Festivals of the LORD

Now Jews and Christians alike must ask additional relational questions of gathering to worship the Lord God. Add to the urgency of questions in the year of our Lord 2020:

    • How will I celebrate Passover?
    • How will I celebrate Easter?

We enter a HOLY WEEK in A.D. 2020 without possibility of practical obedience to traditional scriptural worship of the Lord God.

    Roger Harned – talkofJesus.com
    1. We must realize that obedient worship of the Lord has changed at times. Congregational worship began with a traveling Tabernacle, pointed to an established Temple, reinstituted in a rebuilt Temple, then dispersed into an unclean world.
    2. The Messiah of Israel, the Son of Man and Son of God offered a New Covenant of worship between God our Father and the world through the Holy Spirit of God given to those who believe in Jesus the Son.
    3. Regardless of which tradition of Judaism or Christianity you came to know you likely do not completely grasp the holiness of the Lord God and without the Lord’s mercy your sin before God fails to keep you appropriately distanced from the Very Holiness of the LORD GOD.

We might easily become sidetracked in religious discussions about festivals and traditions, but more germain to our relationship to the Lord God is a brief look at holiness.

    Holy

    קֹדֶשׁ

    Outline of Biblical Usage

    1. apartness, holiness, sacredness, separateness
      1. apartness, sacredness, holiness
        1. of God
        2. of places
        3. of things
      2. set-apartness, separateness

You likly know the first use of this word Holy from when Moses approached the LORD in a burning bush. It’s used more than a hunded times in just Exodus and Leviticus to describe detail concerning worship.

It is used many times in reference to celebration of the Feast of the Unleavened Bread.

‘On the first day you shall have a holy assembly, and another holy assembly on the seventh day; no work at all shall be done on them, except what must be eaten by every person, that alone may be prepared by you.

    Exodus 12:16 NASB

    Holy

    קָדַשׁ

    sanctify (108x), hallow (25x), dedicate (10x), holy (7x), prepare (7x), consecrate (5x), appointed (1x), bid (1x), purified (1x), miscellaneous (7x).

    Outline of Biblical Usage
to consecrate, sanctify, prepare, dedicate, be hallowed, be holy, be sanctified, be separate

קָדַשׁ qâdash, kaw-dash’; a primitive root; to be (causatively, make, pronounce or observe as) clean (ceremonially or morally):—appoint, bid, consecrate, dedicate, defile, hallow, (be, keep) holy(-er, place), keep, prepare, proclaim, purify, sanctify(-ied one, self), wholly.

    Then Moses said to Aaron,

“It is what the LORD spoke, saying,
‘By those who come near Me I will be treated H6942 as holy, H6942
And before all the people I will be honored.’”
    So Aaron, therefore, kept silent.

    Leviticus 10:3 NASB

Do you recall from Scripture what had just taken place?

Before the Lord our God you must: consecrate, sanctify, prepare, dedicate, be hallowed, be holy, be sanctified, be separate — precisely as the LORD instructs. Even Priest and prophet, pastor and teacher (these perhaps moreso) — all must be Holy, because the Lord our God is Holy.

    Holy

    ἅγιος

    Strong’s Definitions
ἅγιος hágios, hag’-ee-os; from ἅγος hágos (an awful thing) (compare G53, G2282); sacred

    • (physically, pure, morally blameless or
    • religious, ceremonially, consecrated):—(most) holy (one, thing),
    • saint.

“BUT THE LORD SAID TO HIM, ‘TAKE OFF THE SANDALS FROM YOUR FEET, FOR THE PLACE ON WHICH YOU ARE STANDING IS HOLY G40 GROUND.

Acts 7:33 Stephen, quoting Moses before the Sanhedrin

Holiness does not change from the Old Testament to the New – different word, same meaning. Stephen also uses it as Jesus did to describe the Holy Spirit of the Lord God.

“You men who are stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears are always resisting the Holy G40 Spirit; you are doing just as your fathers did. – Acts 7:51

    Outline of Biblical Usage

    1. most holy thing, a saint

    Saints & Sinners

Are you Holy to the Lord — separated to the Most High from the commonness of worldly sin?

Dare you enter the Holy of Holies into the Presence of Almighty God?

IF NOT, hear just a bit more about the Messiah Jesus to understand about the Holiness of Holy Week.

    Lord Jesus

Christ our Passover is Sacrificed for us.

    Hebrews 10:

For it was fitting for us to have such a high priest,

    holy, innocent, undefiled,

    separated

    from sinners

    and

    exalted above the heavens;

who does not need daily, like those high priests, to offer up sacrifices,

first for His own sins and then for the sins of the people,

because this He [the Messiah] did once for all when He offered up Himself.

For the Law appoints men as high priests who are weak,

but the word of the oath, which came after the Law,

appoints a Son, made perfect forever.

Therefore let us keep the feast

    אֶרְחַץ בְּנִקָּיֹון כַּפָּי וַאֲסֹבְבָה אֶת־מִזְבַּחֲךָ יְהוָֽה׃

    For dogs have surrounded me;
    A band of evildoers has encompassed me;
They pierced my hands and my feet… – Psalm 22:16

I can count all my bones.

    They look, they stare at me;

They divide my garments among them,

And for my clothing they cast lots.

    the amen

“Who will not fear, O Lord, and glorify Your name?
    For You alone are holy;
For ALL THE NATIONS WILL COME AND WORSHIP BEFORE YOU,
FOR YOUR RIGHTEOUS ACTS HAVE BEEN REVEALED.”

The Revelation of Jesus Christ to John 15:4 NASB
