Getting Out Of Bed In The Morning – Alice J. Wisler

    Christian Non-Fiction Review

    An Introduction by Roger Harned

As I write this on September 21, 2013, my daughter is celebrating her 21st birthday with friends.  If you do the math from the cover photo you will see that Daniel Paul Wisler was born just 28 days before my daughter Rachel, who will be hosting our discussion on grief.

In 1997, the year that Daniel died, Rachel’s mother, my wife Becky, also discovered cancer spreading aggressively through her body.  We prayed fervently for the Lord’s intervention, as did many of our faithful friends; but like Daniel, Becky also died 2-10-99.

Please take a moment to read this review from Alice Wisler’s website.  Join in our discussion on grief.  And consider ordering her book:

  • Atheist or worshiper?

    Atheist or worshiper?

What is the difference between YOU and an atheist?

We can talk about Jesus Christ to some, but does He really make a difference in your life?

Do you worship Jesus as LORD on Sunday?

Do you cherish your relationships with other Christians?

And other than that mere hour on Sunday, do YOU look at life any different than the worldly who do NOT believe in God?

For the atheist – by Roger Harned

    Your matter doesn’t matter.

    Never mind your mind.

My soul sees who God has made.

    Your soul touches mine.

    Hebrews 10:

23 Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.

24 Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.

25 And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.

26 Dear friends, if we deliberately continue sinning after we have received knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice that will cover these sins.

    Psalm 95:6-7

Come, let us worship and bow down.
Let us kneel before the LORD our maker,

    for he is our God.
We are the people he watches over,
    the flock under his care.
If only you would listen to his voice today!

My soul seeks your soul, dear brother, dear sister in our Lord Christ Jesus.

Let us gather together in thankfulness.

See you Sunday, my fellow saints, as we gather as His church.

  • A prayer for men

    A prayer for men

LORD? I know many men who need your help.

    Men without respect… or honor… or praise…

    Men without love… without fulfillment… incomplete…

    Men without purpose… without direction… without work…

    Men alone.

It was never your intention to abandon a man to be:

    • without a wife
    • without work
    • without a friend
    • without You.

So LORD, please help all these men who have been driven deep into the recesses of defeat.

Lift them LORD, to YOUR purpose, YOUR complete Love and YOUR full blessing.

    Blessed is the man
who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stands in the way of sinners,
nor sits in the seat of scoffers – Psalm 1:1

Blessed is the man who finds a good wife in the Lord.

Blessed is the man whose children honor him and whose wife respects him.

Blessed is the man near to his Christian brothers.

Blessed is the man known of the Lord in the gates.

Blessed is the man who can provide for others.

Yet in these evil days, blessed is the man who is rejected by his beloved for the sake of our Lord.

Blessed is the man whose wife and children reject him.

Blessed is the man who is rejected by his friends of the world.

Blessed is the man who is not known and cannot find work.

“Blessed are you when people hate you and when they exclude you and revile you and spurn your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man! – Luke 6:22

Dear Lord? We pray for these faithful men

    and also their loved ones.

    In Christ’s Name…
