Three Hours of Darkness
Mattityahu 27: Orthodox Jewish Bible
45 Now, from the sixth hour, choshech fell upon all the land until the ninth hour.
46 And about the ninth hour, Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach cried out with a kol gadol, saying Eli, Eli, lemah sabachthani! (that is, My G-d, my G-d, why hast thou forsaken me? TEHILLIM 22:2[1]).
The OLD Veil torn for a NEW Covenant
The veil is a holy covering designed to keep the common from looking upon that from which they must necessarily be separated (or die).
The LORD said to Moses:
Leviticus 16:2 NASB20
“Tell your brother Aaron that he shall not enter at any time into the Holy Place inside the veil, before the atoning cover which is on the ark, or he will die; for I will appear in the cloud over the atoning cover.
In the King James Version the ‘atoning cover’ is called, ‘the mercy seat.’ It is a place of the LORD’s Presence where He may show Mercy to those whose prayers and petitions are brought before Judgment by the anointed High Priest.
Gospel of Matthew – on the Veil
51 And behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth shook and the rocks were split.
52 Also the tombs were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised;
and coming out of the tombs after His resurrection, they entered the holy city and appeared to many.
