Roger Harned’s Statement of Faith

As a lay theologian I write and teach what the Lord puts on my heart by the Holy Spirit from the Bible as written.

I hold firm to time-tested firm foundations of scriptural faith in the Trinity and an inerrant word of God.

All men and women sin

(INCLUDING ME; but I cannot judge yours.) My saving grace is that I am born again in the Holy Spirit. The Lord brought me into a relationship of His great love.

Jesus Christ is Lord

NOT ONLY a King — NOT culturally a Prophet — and NOT simply a Priest.

JESUS IS LORD – King, Prophet, Priest AND much more!

I agree with the long-standing orthodox creeds of the Christian church, including the Nicene and Apostles Creeds, as well as the main tenets of the faith taught by Scripture-centric churches and believers within most Christian denominations.

Family & Personal

My mom and dad raised us in a Christian home where we attended church weekly [Cortland OH Methodist Church] and participated in social activities with other Christians.

I have generally tried to live as Jesus teaches us in scripture. I’m a sinner and have often failed in my faith.

Thankfully, I was born again in the Holy Spirit about thirty years ago. This personal relationship with the Lord matters most in my everyday life.

I currently live in the U.S., married since 2015 to my beloved wife Rochelle, a messianic Jew (born Jewish & now a Christ-follower from many years) locally here in Cincinnati OH US. We are, of course, local church members (as I have been in every community I have lived).

RECENT Life Events:

APRIL A.D. 2023

ROGER, as FATHER of the BRIDE

Rachel’s mother Becky and I raised our daughter for seven years as faithful members of the Episcopal Church where she also sang and participated in children’s ministries. (She is wearing here mother’s wedding dress from when we were married in A.D. 1976.) After her mom went to the Lord in early A.D. 1999 Rachel continued in her faith in the Southern Baptist Church, Christ Church at Wheaton College and the Presbyterian Church (current one pictured below).

Along with my wife Rochelle and many witnesses, we thanked God and celebrated the vows of my only biological daughter to an equally yoked man of God and Jesus Christ and continue to hold them both in our prayers.

Writing online in WITNESS to JESUS Christ and addressing some very PERSONAL and social issues (hopefully from a Biblically authentic perspective) is NOT EASY.
