Christ or Belial?

Perdition, you say?

You did not even know what it was or did you consider that a son or daughter of perdition is doomed to the punishment of hell!

And now another description of Judas and followers claiming Christ only to their own advantage — Belial.

Belial

Βελίαλ
  • Belial = “worthless or wicked”
    • a name of Satan

Son of Satan or daughter of Satan,

Paul preaches against you – warning the church not to embrace your deceitful ways.

And what concord [συμφώνησις] hath Christ with Belial?

or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel [ἄπιστος]?

Second Letter of Paul to the Church at Corinth 6:15 KJV,NASB,CSB

What does this teaching to the Church have to do with the Gospel of John and the betrayal of Christ by Judas?

You with ears to hear listen to Paul’s heart for the church.

2 Corinthians 6:

We will stick with the King James for its pointedness.

We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain…

13 Now for a recompence in the same, (I speak as unto my children,) be ye also enlarged.

14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers:

for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness?

and what communion hath light with darkness?

Yes, Judas walked with Jesus… with John and with Peter…

And yet did Judas not prove to be a son of the devil, destined to betray the Good News of God Incarnate walking among men?

What fellowship did Judas truly have with Jesus and the Disciples?

It was no fellowship at all — false in every pretense. Judas was worthless to the Gospel! Christ’s betrayer was wicked in his hidden actions and now in Gethsemane Judas was the most wicked son of Belial!

In his letter to the Church Paul continues by questioning our diversity in joining with those opposed to Christ Jesus.

15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?

16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols?

for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
