Shana’s quarrel with her father began when Rafael, the only son of her father’s friend — the sheep farmer — had started showing up with gifts for the family.

You can guess how these relationships might develop.  Then they travel to the hills where shepherds graze their flocks near the spectacular city of Jerusalem.

    Interesting that author Linda Coddick and I share a similar past and are both also writing unconventional biblical fiction. I was born in DRC Congo, attended a boarding school in northern Rhodesia—today Zambia—and am writing an ancient trilogy: “Light to the Nations” that almost forecasts today’s issues. I too was a sensitive child toward suffering animals and children, struggled to survive in a strict boarding school, but unlike Linda, I had loving parents who suffered in their own way. Later the tragic loss of a family member brought our family even closer together. Suffering and sorrow in the lives of believers is never wasted. Bitter as they are they bear their own sweet fruit in God’s time.
