Thought from my first post –

Jesus interrupts our thinking that life is burdensome or ordinary.

Every moment has the possibility for a miraculous interruption of interaction in the will of God.

    Life Interrupts Life – August 6, 2013
Thought 10 years later: Twitter is now brand X – Facebook is now MetaJESUS IS still ONE with GOD!

    Series of thoughts about EMPIRE

We live in a FALLEN world where Christ followers are aliens (not truly citizens) in FALLEN EMPIRES.

Roger@TalkofJesus.com – 21 August in the year of our Lord 2023

The lessons of history and specifically Scripture sound the trumpet of warning in these last days. Is the United States of America any less likely to fall than the EMPIRE of Rome know to JESUS?

Something's wrong with our church! church denominations

EMPIRE Fallen; Church Divided traces the beginnings of CHURCH HISTORY as related to historical events also linked to Christian faith.

The concept of the Falling CHURCH has been food for thought since my early posts. Here is a quote from an early series RE-Posted as a Summer Rerun in A.D. 2021:

    8 August, 2013 A.D. – This time in history.

Genesis 1:2a King James Version – And the earth was without form, and void…

Creation, mankind, nations, the church, families and individuals ALL have a history.

“Most history is untold and unknown to most.

Roger@TalkofJesus.com – Thought from a 3 min. introduction to a 3-part series EMPIRE Fallen; Church Divided

    Roger writes for Christian believers

how do you react to denied HOT topics of Truth?
false – for it is intolerant of Christ and Scripture
“Sin against God Almighty will be judged.  Sin of false prophets will be judged.  Sin of godless religious and national leaders will be judged. Sin of godless men will be judged. – August 17, 2013 AD

Paul and his Christian brothers write to the churches. They are not claiming to write to everyone in Galatia or Corinth or EVERYONE anywhere else in the idol-worshiping gentile world. Is that OUR approach?

Isn’t it nice to watch some preacher online (or on T.V.) and conveniently claim to the culture that you are ‘a christian?” ARE YOU? Simply because YOU watched some christian preacher saying graceful things?

But Not ALL Preaching is Scripturally motivated

Distinction between the Kingdom and the Church of Christ – 9/24/2022 AD
Do you really believe that? Can you affirm that ONLY Scripture Sola Scriptura is the inspired word of the Lord God? {a recall of a church strayed from Scripture - What doctrine do you preach?)
    ONLY Scripture – Sola Scriptura

    An ongoing thought & caution:

a 2 minute read, BUT do my ‘christian’ ‘friends’ bother to HEAR Scripture & respond?

AGAIN, the challenge of 2013 remains among the challenges of A.D. 2023. What is true of false teaching? What source can you trust for TRUTH?

How is it that you can listen to false teachers for hours, yet will not READ your Bible even for minutes?
Do you believe the Bible? How will you know if your teacher is false?

    Roger@TalkofJesus.com – August 13, 2013

    Thoughts about gods and COUNTRY

And he said unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar’s, and unto God the things which be God’s.

Luke 20:15 LSB – thought from JESUS

Don’t you just love all the DEBATE every four years trying to buy a NEW Caesar for the Palace?

Roger has generally not take political sides nor does he avoid the debate as some of the arrogant leaders may spin their own outcomes.
MINISTRY OF TRUTH - Orwellian view from 1948 with warnings of 1984

Supposing that WE THE PEOPLE elect our Caesar’s as Idols of our EMPIRE only to carry daggers of assassination into hate week debates of NEWSPEAK every four years.

Pilate *said to them, “Shall I crucify your King?”
The chief priests answered, “We have no king but Caesar.” – Gospel of John 19:15 LSB
    – YET the ‘christian’ right & ‘catholic’ ‘choice rights’ radically claim ‘religion without Christ’
for the US election in the Common Era of 2014

JUSTICE is not only blind, but crippled by unrighteousness.
LAW is lost without AUTHORITY of GOD.

    Roger@TalkofJesus.com – August 14, 2014 CE
NO Christology a study of creation without Christ

    FORGET POLITICS & RELIGION, CHRIST

    IS THE MOST CONTROVERSIAL TOPIC!

You may have heard of the Trinity before,

but it will not impact your faith until you receive the Holy Spirit.

    Roger@talkofJesus.com – June 12, 2021 Doctrine – GOD IS HOLY

About Roger + some theological thoughts

A ‘life verse’ from Job, a righteous man questioning Almighty God.

For what is the hope of the godless, though he get him gain,
When God taketh away his soul?
9 Will God hear his cry,
    When trouble cometh upon him?
10 Will he delight himself in the Almighty,
And call upon God at all times?
    11 I will teach you concerning the hand of God;
That which is with the Almighty will I not conceal.

    Job 27:8-11 ASV

updated TODAY – is this a post-Covid christian direction?

A man of too many friends comes to ruin,

But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

    Proverbs 18:24
I have neither too many nor a friend closer than a brother.
For I have not been one to more than a few.

Lack of response by these here will verify the lonely truth of this. - RH

  • Fatherly Advice

    Fatherly Advice

Psalm 103:13 As a father shows compassion to his children,
so the LORD shows compassion to those who fear him.

Proverbs 10:1 A wise son makes a glad father,
but a foolish son is a sorrow to his mother.

Exodus 20:12 “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the LORD your God is giving you.

Deuteronomy 5:16 “‘Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God commanded you, that your days may be long, and that it may go well with you in the land that the LORD your God is giving you.

Therefore, fathers: how must we instruct our sons; mothers, how must we raise our daughters?

Instruct them in scripture and raise them in Christ Jesus.

Although the Proverbs etched in our memory of scripture speak specifically of fathers raising sons in obedience to scripture and to the Lord, the advice of Proverbs should flow also from a mother’s instruction and be heeded by our young women of faith.

    Proverbs 1

    English Standard Version (ESV)

    The Beginning of Knowledge

1 The proverbs of Solomon, son of David, king of Israel:

2 To know wisdom and instruction,
    to understand words of insight,
3 to receive instruction in wise dealing,
    in righteousness, justice, and equity;
4 to give prudence to the simple,
knowledge and discretion to the youth—
5 Let the wise hear and increase in learning,
and the one who understands obtain guidance,
6 to understand a proverb and a saying,
the words of the wise and their riddles.

    7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge;
    fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Warn your christian child against becoming a fool without knowledge of scripture and the commands of Christ.

    The Enticement of Sinners

8 Hear, my son, your father’s instruction,
and forsake not your mother’s teaching,
9 for they are a graceful garland for your head
    and pendants for your neck.
10 My son, if sinners entice you,
    do not consent.

Our christian sons and daughters (like us) live in a world opposed to Christ, daily temptations to be enticed by many a sin to the company of the seduction and darkness of welcoming ‘friends.’

     Proverbs 3:

5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
6 In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.
    7 Be not wise in your own eyes;
fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.

At what age in your childhood did you become ‘wise in your own eyes?”

Our younger children may earlier become friends of the world.  Children of rebellious parents would lead your child to their worldly wisdom at an earlier age in these last days.

    Proverbs 5:

20 Why should you be intoxicated, my son, with a forbidden woman
and embrace the bosom of an adulteress?
21 For a man’s ways are before the eyes of the Lord,
and he ponders all his paths.
22 The iniquities of the wicked ensnare him,
and he is held fast in the cords of his sin.
23 He dies for lack of discipline,
and because of his great folly he is led astray.

    Proverbs 10

2 Treasures gained by wickedness do not profit,
    but righteousness delivers from death.
3 The Lord does not let the righteous go hungry,
but he thwarts the craving of the wicked.
4 A slack hand causes poverty,
but the hand of the diligent makes rich.
5 He who gathers in summer is a prudent son,
but he who sleeps in harvest is a son who brings shame.

8 The wise of heart will receive commandments,
but a babbling fool will come to ruin.
9 Whoever walks in integrity walks securely,
but he who makes his ways crooked will be found out.
10 Whoever winks the eye causes trouble,
and a babbling fool will come to ruin.
11 The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life,
but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence.
    12 Hatred stirs up strife,
    but love covers all offenses.

    Proverbs 12

8 There is one whose rash words are like sword thrusts,
but the tongue of the wise brings healing.
    19 Truthful lips endure forever,
but a lying tongue is but for a moment.
20 Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil,
but those who plan peace have joy.
21 No ill befalls the righteous,
but the wicked are filled with trouble.
22 Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord,
but those who act faithfully are his delight.

     Proverbs 14

The wisest of women builds her house,
but folly with her own hands tears it down.

11 The house of the wicked will be destroyed,
but the tent of the upright will flourish.
12 There is a way that seems right to a man,
but its end is the way to death.

Is yours a Christian home filled with the love, instruction and correction of scripture?

Does your Holy Christian marriage stand as example before your children of Christ’s own love for us?

Is your relationship to each of your children near to you as your relationship to Christ Jesus?

Do your children witness your relationship with God in their relationship with you?

LORD, Christ Jesus, we are your little children with so much to learn in humility in bowing down to your will for me, for my wife, for our children. Lord help us to be wise in your word and to walk faithfully in witness to your ways.

The Fruit of Good Advice – 2

    A Tree and Its Fruit

Luke 6:43 “For no good tree bears bad fruit, nor again does a bad tree bear good fruit, 44 for each tree is known by its own fruit.

picking thistleripe fig on branchFor figs are not gathered from thornbushes,

    concord grapes
bramble bushnor are grapes picked from a bramble bush.

It’s a picture proverb, really; a comparison or two fruits to the source of their growth. It’s a picture of inconsistency, hypocrisy (if you will) as He has just related in verses 39-42.

You are both hungry and thirsty. You see a luscious and juicy fig on a tree in an orchard or you walk through a vineyard on a hillside with grapes juicy and ripe for the picking. Your timing is just right. The figs are ready to be picked. The grapes are ripe and ready for the wine-press. God has blessed you. God has fed you.

But what does Jesus tell the multitudes whom He has just fed with His authoritative good advice?

45 The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

Look at the tree and you will see the fruit. Look at the thistle and the bramble and you will have NO fruit.

Where is the source of the good fruit – the source of blessing?

It is from God our Father.

Therefore, IF you are part of those who hear, YOU will have good fruit and blessing. Yet IF you are just one of the multitude who bears no fruit, YOU will have curse.

    Is His message still repent?

Of course. We have a merciful Father. Therefore bear the fruit of repentance.

Speak good and not evil from your heart.

Are you known by your fruit for Christ Jesus?

Consider the consequence for failing to repent and return to the Lord.
