What is truth?

Religious Leaders

Political Leaders

  1. Is Jesus innocent?
  2. Do you, like Pilate, question what is truth?
  3. Will religious leaders make false or misleading statements to maintain their influence?
  4. Will politicians – governors, presidents, presidential hopefuls – make false or misleading statements to achieve greater influence?
  5. Is truth on trial in A.D 2020? Has accusation displaced justice in the public square?

The Debate:

Please comment with answers to any of the 5 questions above.
Can you cite Scripture?

DISCLAIMER:
The timely political/religious debate below is my opinion only.

Help me decide IF I should vote for President in 2020
& if so,
The Democrat or Republican nominee & why?

Can you support your ballot choice by any specific Biblical guidance or teaching of Jesus Christ?

UNDECIDED (still)

Here’s why:

Just this week in October 2020, the FBI proved that Russia and Iran have sought to influence the outcome of the 2020 U.S. Presidential Election. (No surprise; China, Ukraine, N. Korea and others likely have too.)

  • Does Rome’s current Bishop seek to influence U.S. voters?
  • Could the Vatican Holy See Francis’ comments condoning the sins of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual Transgender, Queer couples in civil marriage seek to sway U.S. voters and political party agenda?
  • Are you aware that Senator Biden and Speaker Pelosi both claim Roman Catholicism?
  • Can any man or woman who would lead this nation deny the right of birth in the land of the free to a child in its mother’s womb and call it a right religious ‘choice?’

Why is abortion not viewed as a scourge by the religious leader of a universal faith that claims the Christ child of God?

  • Number of US Abortions in 2018 = 623,471
    • Abortions per day = 1708
  • TOTAL Number of COVID deaths in 2020 in the US to date = 221,438
    • Most recent # of COVID deaths last daily average = 1076

Aren’t Catholics, Protestants and followers of Jesus Christ AGAINST ABORTION?

Hasn’t the Pandemic impacted the poor more than most & challenged the policies of nearly every leader of countries around the world?

The Incumbant Choice

Some of my friends know my predictable political position summed up this year (as every other year):

#SomeoneElse4Congress2020

or #VOTE4SomeoneElse

(It’s still a ‘lesser of two evils’ in most races, certainly my local Representative.)

$MONEY$ buys CONGRESS & The White House! We know this truth, but our idealism hides it as well as the anonymous BIG $$$ Donors of numerous PAC’s. Politicians in office have made certain that every incumbent has a great advantage; so let’s briefly mention the POTUS, the current incumbent.

  • Is he truthful? (Not even close, but what politician has been elected by telling the truth?)
  • Is he a ‘christian?’
  • Is he an adulterer and tax-evading business owner?
  • Is he arrogant?
  • Is he respected by other leaders?
  • Is he trusted by his own advisors?
  • Will he learn from his misguided mistakes?

IF you ask in an email or comment, I will tell you how I VOTED in 2016.

The American voter by choosing the lesser of two evils for President or Congress will not further democracy without deceit or a people free from injustice.

Roger Harned – on the choices of the 2020 US election

HOW SHOULD I VOTE IN 2020?

AMERICA, Bless God and know the Way, the Truth and the Life, Christ Jesus, our Lord and only Savior.

One new opinion here from a pastor I respect who lives in the Spirit, John Piper, who articulates his thoughts so much better than me.
